Puma Energy Building, HamiltonElectrical and Mechanical Services Client: Graystone Architect: Nettleton Tribe Value: $30m Completion: September 2016 Description This award winning 3 storey, 6000 sqm building acts as the corner stone of the BTP Northshore Hamilton business precinct show casing the use of environmentally friendly and energy efficient technologies in an aesthetically pleasing form. The building serves as the Puma Energy Australasian headquarters and comprises of a number of integrated building services systems. The Mechanical system and fixtures selected to provide most efficient energy usage, and designed to environmentally sustainable principles to reduce the costs of heating and cooling. Selection of HVAC and electrical and lighting services have been made to ensure low running costs as well around the clock air conditioning monitoring and centralised reporting which allows for the building management team to act quickly to maintain the buildings ongoing use and efficiency. Use of raised floor construction facilitates the use of sub floor cabling to reduce the visual impact of services to work stations as well as adding to the buildings overall flexibility. The artificial lighting with its occupancy sensor control complements the extensive use of natural light to the office space as well as ensuring running costs are kept to a minimum. The use of self-contained LED luminaires throughout the building provides significant energy savings as well as reducing on-going maintenance costs.
