Kenmore SHS Year 7 Building

Client: Queensland Government – Department of Education, Training and Employment Architect: Arc2 Value: $8m Completion: November 2014 Description This building was built to facilitate the transition of Year 7 students to high school. Due to the anticipated future growth at Kenmore State High School, the building was built as a three storey, with the ground floor partially open for assembly. There are a total of 16 General Learning Areas (GLAs), two Flexible Learning Areas (FLAs), as well as a dance/drama area. The middle level also incorporates a staff area. The whole building is fully provided with Wi-Fi throughout, as well as interactive teaching areas incorporating audio-visual systems. The air conditioning systems comprise energy-efficient VRF plant with compact external plant. Also as part of the project, a two-storey Special Education Unit building incorporating learning support and life skills teaching rooms was built.
